ALAKODE: The grieving eyes of Cybella and Mareeta reached the Alavelil house in Kannur making it difficult for the onlookers to hold tears. It was yesterday night that Cybella and Mareeta reached Kannur from Sudan but with heartache. Cybella’s husband Albert Augustine(48) was shot dead shockingly in the conflict between militaries in Sudan just days before.

After the death of Albert, Cybella, and Mareeta stayed at the same home for 12 more days. They reached Nebumbassery airport at 9 pm accompanied by fellow Malayali Moideen, who took care of the family in Sudan during the trying times. The mother and daughter were escorted to Kannur in a government-assigned vehicle.

Austin, son of Albert reached back from Canada two days before. The neighbors and relatives who reached the house endured a tough job consoling the family. Moideen says the streets in Sudan are currently running high on pilfering and robbery. It makes all efforts go in vain to bring back Alberts's dead body to his homeland.

After Alberts's death, Cybella and Mareeta took shield in the basement of their house for more than eight days without water and food. It was after the works from the central government that the two found means to reach back Kerala. Albert visited Kerala two months before and wanted his wife and daughter to accompany him to Sudan. Albert worked in the food department for the security forces in Sudan.
