MUMBAI: The special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi in the suicide case of actress Jiah Khan. The court acquitted the actor due to lack of evidence. The verdict was pronounced after a gap of 10 years.
Actress Jiah Khan was found hanging in her flat in Mumbai on June 3 in 2013. The police recovered a six-page suicide note from her flat after three days of the incident. The Mumbai police initially investigated the case and came to the conclusion that her death was a suicide, but the case was handed over to the CBI after Jiah's mother approached the high court, claiming her daughter's death as murder. However, the CBI also confirmed it as a suicide.
