KOZHIKODE: Health Minister Veena George conducted a lightning inspection at Nadapuram Taluk Hospital. The minister's visit was based on the complaint that the hospital does not provide facilities for inpatient treatment. The minister inspected the hospital's emergency department, wards and labs. Veena George informed that various registers were also inspected and it was clear from the inspection that the complaint has substance. Minister has sought a report from the DMO on not admitting enough patients despite having basic facilities.

Complaints were raised that among those arriving at the Taluk hospital, the patients who had to be admitted were sent to the district hospital. The Health Minister took the matter seriously and conducted an investigation after the MLA complained that the patients were not admitted and treated. At the time of the minister's arrival, there were only a few patients in the hospital wards, which had the capacity to accommodate 100 people. The report of the DMO was sought after realizing the truth. Veena George informed that action will be taken on the matter as soon as the report is received.
