THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National Informatics Center has informed the state that the ration shops in the state will be open from tomorrow since the EPOS server problem has been resolved. The state civil supplies department also stated that the distribution of ration through EPOS has been restored.
Ration will be distributed in seven districts in the morning and in the remaining seven districts in the afternoon from tomorrow till May 3. Ration shops in the state were closed for the past three days due to server failure.
Minister GR Anil informed that NIC has completed the process of transferring the data stored on the current servers to cloud storage. The data was changed on the instructions of NIC Hyderabad, after which load testing was also done with the help of the State IT Mission.
Ration will be distributed in Malappuram, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, and Wayanad districts on the 29th from 8 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 7 pm in Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur, Kottayam, Kasaragod and Idukki districts.
This schedule will continue till May 3. April ration distribution will continue till May 5 and May ration distribution will start on May 6. The Minister informed that all the officials including the District Supply Officer will be in the field to closely monitor the distribution of ration through EPOS and take immediate intervention in case of problems.
