KOLAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's poisonous snake remark. Snake is the necklace of Lord Siva and for me the public of Karnataka is Siva. Let them ridicule, however, this time also, the BJP will win with a huge majority, Modi said while addressing an election rally in Kolar, Karnataka.

Modi said that when he is fighting against corruption, the congress is disturbed. They are comparing me with a snake. 85% of the people in the Congress party accepts commission. Their Prime Minister had earlier acknowledged this. The congress is working hard to come to power and to loot the state. However, that will not happen. The people of Karnataka know what are the benefits of double engine government. Modi said the people of Kolar will present Congress and the JDS sleepless nights.

Kharge in an election rally in Karnataka, said, ‘Modi is like a 'poisonous snake', you might think it’s poison or not. If you lick it, you are dead. If you think the prime minister is good and give him one more chance, you are licking that poison. You have to think for the country.’

After the media took over the remarks, BJP leaders and Union Ministers showered sharp criticisms. With that, Kharge came to the fore correcting it. Kharge said that he had not personally attacked Modi, but what he meant was that the ideology of BJP was equal to a poisonous snake.
