chakkakomban-attack

IDUKKI: Arikomban was tamed and shifted to Periyar bringing mixed reactions among the people in Kerala. However, Chinnakanal near Munnar returned back to normalcy, or many thought it was. Shocking all, an incident happened today morning at 5 am. A group of tuskers led by another infamous name ‘Chakkakomban’ destroyed a shed near Chinnakanal premises.

The shed was close to Mount Fort School. Chakkakomban came with an entourage of four other elephants and destroyed the shed to rumbles. Rajan who used to stay here luckily was out of place visiting a doctor.

Chakkakomban used to roam in the village near Munnar in Arikomban’s tutelage. Just hours after Arikomban was relocated from Chinnakanal, the team including Chakkakomban visited the spot dismayed about the disappearance of their close one.

According to reports, Arikomban is acclimatizing to Periyar wildlife. A radio collar has been rounded on the neck of the giant as each movement of the pachyderm gets monitored in real-time. Helicams and drones are also used to scrutinize the rogue one's movement. The first visuals from the cam showed Arikomban taking food inside the Periyar forests.
