THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The central meteorological department has warned that isolated heavy summer rains are likely to continue in the state. Heavy rains are likely to batter Central Kerala. Yellow alert has been sounded in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur today and tomorrow.

Showers thunderstorms and gusty winds are possible to lash after noon. People in hilly areas should be extra cautious. Fishing off the coast of Lakshadweep has been banned. There is no restriction on fishing in Kerala and Karnataka coasts.

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that till May 4 there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kerala and strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph and rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kerala on May 5.
