NEW DELHI: The Gujarat high court refused to give interim relief to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the Modi surname remark. The court will decide on the final judgment post-summer vacation. Such that the disqualification of former MP Rahul Gandhi from parliament will remain.

Rahul Gandhi earlier on 29 th April approached the Gujarat high court with a review petition in the hope of the court reversing the Surat court decision. Meanwhile, Gujarat HC justice Hemanth Prachchhak asked Gandhi to refrain from such verbal diatribes minding his political position.

Senior Advocate Nirupam Nanavati appeared for Punesh Modi, who was the complainant. He told that the court should consider the seriousness of the offence and its impact on the victim and society.

If the Gujarat HC verdicts in favor of Gandhi, the latter will assume back his role as the MP of Wayanad and will see a rousing reentrance back to the chamber of parliament.
