ULLIYERI: A car travelled by family members crashed into the compound wall of the house, causing a tragic end for a man and his grandson. Five people in the car were injured. The deceased have been identified as Kozhikode Madavoor Kadavattu Parambath Sadanandan (67) and grandson Dhanjith (7). Sadanandan's wife Shyamala (61), son Sujith Kumar (45), Sujith Kumar's wife Dhanya (38), daughter Thejasree (12), and Sujith Kumar's sister's daughter Naithika (9) were injured. They were admitted to Malabar Medical College Hospital, Modakallur.

The accident took place yesterday at 12 noon at Ullyeri 19th mile on the Ulliyeri-Balussery route. The car first hit the wall of the private establishment. It went out of control and hit the wall of the adjacent house. The front of the car was completely destroyed. Sadanand and grandson were sitting in the front seat of the car. Sadanandan and his family were coming from Madavur to Ollur to attend the site viewing ceremony of their daughter Sunaja. Other children of Sadananda: Sunaja and Sujala. In-laws: Prashanth (Ollur) and Shibu.
