ALAPPUZHA: CPM has suspended district panchayat vice president Bipin C Babu from the party for beating his wife after she questioned him about his illicit relationship. The suspension is for six months.

CPM Kayamkulam Area Committee met and took action against Bipin on the instructions of state secretary MV Govindan. Bipin C Babu's wife Minisa had lodged a complaint with the CPM Alappuzha district secretary about the incident three months ago.

MV Govindan demanded action against Bipin C Babu in the district secretariat meeting held on Sunday. Following this, the Area Committee met and suspended Bipin C Babu.
