KOCHI: Former High Court judge Justice S Shankarasubban (79) passed away. He was on a family outing in Shimla when he suffered a heart attack and died. The body, which will be brought to Kerala today, will be kept for public viewing at the Judicial Academy in Angamaly. The body will be taken later to Thrissur.
He was a Kerala High Court judge for ten years from 1996. He had issued several rulings that were helpful in facilitating the Sabarimala pilgrimage. He retired on 23 May 2006.

He was born on May 23, 1944, in Thiruvananthapuram to the late TS Shankar and Ponnammal. He started practice in 1968 after obtaining a law degree. Shankarasubban, who proved proficient in civil cases, was a lawyer for many organizations like KSRTC, Trivandrum Rubber Works, and Indian Overseas Bank.
