MALAPPURAM: A major fire broke out in a commercial building at Kakkad in Malappuram Sunday morning at 6 am. The fire broke out in the building containing an auto spare parts shop that also sells oil. The two-storied building has been completely gutted in the fire.

The initial reports said short circuit is the cause of the accident. No one was in the building at the time of the incident. Two units of the fire force have arrived and are continuing to douse the fire. Reports said the fire is under control.
