MALAPPURAM: More people were allowed to enter the boat in Thooval Theeram, which resulted in capsizing. According to present reports, more than 21 people died in the mayhem. The boat overturned with choc full of passengers just 300m away from the harbor.

The accident happened in the boat that went for the last trip of the day. The boat breached the norms and went for service at 7 pm while the rule only allow service till 6 pm. Fisherman folks and locals joined the rescue operation trying to turn the boat up. The accident happened near a muddy area making it more difficult for the team to carry out rescue operations.
