KUMILY: Rogue tusker Arikomban, who was translocated from Chinnakkanal to the Periyar Tiger Reserve, is currently remaining in Megamalai in Tamil Nadu. Efforts to send the elephant back to the Kerala forest region have not yet yielded results. Meanwhile, a video has come out showing Arikomban charging toward a bus that was travelling through a pass leading to Megamalai. The incident took place yesterday night.

The video shows the elephant charging towards the bus when the driver attempted to take the bus forward. It then went back into the forest after standing there for a while. A team of 30 Tamil Nadu forest rangers is monitoring Arikomban. At present, Arikomban is located inside the dense forest within the Megamalai Tiger Reserve.

Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Forest Department has complained that Kerala is not providing accurate signal information on Arikomban. Due to this reason, there is difficulty in monitoring the movement of Arikombam, according to Chinnamanur Range Officer. For the past three days, Arikomban has been reaching the populated areas in the region, thereby creating a frightening situation there.
