KOLKATA: Kolkata Night Riders defeated Punjab Kings in yesterday's IPL match that took to the last ball to decide. Riding on Shikhar Dhawan’s consistent batting where he knocked an unbeaten 57 runs, Punjab scored 179 runs. KKR readied for a chase and whittled down the numbers with Nitish Rana’s 51 and Andre Russell's 42 runs. Russell turned the tables with three sixes in the 19th over. However, it was Rinku Singh's four in the last ball which ensured a well-worked win for KKR.
Dhawan upped the game for Punjab putting up a 53-run stand with Jitesh Sharma for the third wicket. Dhawan scored 57 off 47 before falling to his KKR counterpart Nitish Rana.
