Youth Congres state general secretary Rahul Mamkootathil has lashed out at Health Minister Veena George over her response in connection with the incident in which a lady house surgeon was stabbed to death by an assailant at the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital. The minister had said that Dr. Vandana Das, a house surgeon, did not have much experience and might have gotten scared when the attack took place.

Taking a dig at the minister Rahul Mamkootathil, in his Facebook post, said that a doctor has expertise in medicine and not in physical training.

'Tributes to Dr. Vandana, who was stabbed by an assailant while on duty... However, I don't have anything to say about the Health Minister who responded by saying that 'this child was a house surgeon who did not have experience'. The minister should realize that if a doctor is experienced, he/she will have expertise in medicine and not in physical training. No matter how experienced a doctor is, won't he become scared when an intoxicated person attacks with a weapon? The minister should at least speak a little more sensibly at this time of tragedy,' he wrote.
