KOLLAM: The East Kallada Police have arrested a soldier who assaulted a policeman on duty under the influence of alcohol. The arrested person is East Kallada Koduvila native Jose Prakash (45). The incident took place on May 10.

On May 10, Jose Prakash had come to the East Kallada police station to lodge a complaint. Following a dispute, Jose Prakash assaulted SCPO Sujith, who was on GD duty. He also assaulted ASI Madhukkuttan and CPO Suresh Babu who tried to stop him. The officials later managed to subdue him with the help of the Kundara police. The accused has been remanded.
