KANNUR: It has been seven years since this 140 feet deep tube well began to overflow. Water flow in summer and year-round. Drinking water source for two hundred families.

This miracle tube well is in the house of CP Chandrasekaran Nair at Puralimala Koovakara in Malur Panchayat. The well was drilled in April 2016 for agriculture after spending thirty thousand rupees. From that time the water began to flow around the well. The water was not wasted and the locals started taking it away by attaching a hose. A year ago, a large water tank was constructed below the tube well. Forty thousand rupees was spent on its construction. The money was raised by the locals themselves. The water that reaches this water tank through the big pipe is now taken by each household through small hoses. Some people come to the reservoir and fetch water.

Over the course of seven years, thousands of people came to Chandrasekharan Nair's house to witness this miraculous water flow. The well and its surroundings have been beautified with sculptures and planting by Chandrasekharan Nair's son Pradeepan.

Geology officials have concluded that the flow of water may continue for several years. It is believed that the well may have been dug into the water reservoir that stretches for kilometers underground. They said that even if another well is dug on the same line, there will be a similar flow.
