KOLLAM: An accused who was taken to the hospital by the police tried to attack a doctor. Ayathil native Vishnu, who was brought to Kollam district hospital for medical examination, became violent and attacked the doctor. The accused tried to manhandle the doctor and kicked the examination table. A danger was averted after those, including house surgeons, ran away. It is alleged that the police asked the doctor to complete the medical examination despite the attack committed by the accused. The accused was taken into custody by the Anchalummood police for getting involved in a drunken brawl.

Meanwhile, Minister Veena George said that strict legal action will be taken against those who attack health workers. The minister was inaugurating the state-level Nurses Day celebrations at AKG Hall. She said that Nurses Day cannot be celebrated happily in view of Dr. Vandana's demise.
