THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress' sweep in Karnataka has given a necessary boost to cadres in Kerala. In Kerala, the party looks to emulate the 2019 Lok Sabha landslide victory in 2024. The Karnataka victory will help the party garner the confidence among minority sections, even as BJP in Kerala looks to employ all means to rope in vulnerable Christian factions to the saffron camp.
After the humiliation in the 2021 assembly elections, even Muslim League showed apprehension continuing with Congress. All such rifts and quibbles were moreover healed in the recently held 'Leaders Meet' in Wayanad. The party looks for resurgence and 2024 will be the first foray to win back Kerala from the left.
Congress action plan for 2024
Karnataka congress victory resonates that the minority cohesion with Congress is essential for a big win, mostly in Kerala.
Dalits were in large numbers who voted Congress to power in Karnataka. Congress making a fortress in Wayanad will only help more such sidelined sections to favor the grand old party.
The high command was successful in ameliorating tensions between both Siddaramiah and D K Shivakumar. This gives hope because Kerala is also replete with such differences within factions. The 'leaders meet' in Wayanad was one such event to sort out differences and it worked well.
Congress fixated on the corruption deals of the BJP in Karnataka and never skittered off from it. It helped people to dethrone BJP from power. Likewise, Congress if focused solely on the corruption deals including Keltron and C-DAC, it won't be that late for the party to get back to power in Kerala.
