KOCHI: Pakistan's Haji Salim group was behind the Rs 15,000-crore drug haul seized off the coast of Kochi on Saturday. The Narcotic Control Bureau clarified this. NCB officials said that the symbols on the drug packets were similar to those of the Haji Salim group, and two other drug gangs in Pakistan were also being investigated for their involvement in the incident.

The plastic boxes in which the meth was delivered were marked with Bitcoin and Rolex stamps as markers of production facilities. Methamphetamine was packed tightly in plastic boxes with cotton to prevent moisture. The packing was such that it can be kept at sea for several days. The boxes are also embossed with a scorpion seal, Bitcoin, and Rolex seals to mark the production centers. The NCB concluded that the drugs were manufactured in more than three drug manufacturing labs.

Last day, NCB and Navy seized 2500 kg of methamphetamine which was being smuggled in a ship in Kochi sea. It is reported that the group tried to sink the ship where the drugs were stored after learning that the Navy and NCB were following them. After sinking the ship, they escaped by boarding the boats in it. A native of Pakistan was taken into custody after following a boat.
