PARASSALA: A drunken CPM local leader attacked a doctor inside Pozhiyoor government hospital. Medical officer Dr. Jain has complained about the same to the police. According to the police, the incident happened on the same day when Dr. Vandana Das was attacked. Dr Jain after attending to the 70 O.P. tickets, joined the doctors' protest in the murder of Dr. Vandana Das. He even informed this news to panchayat members.

The CPM local leader reached the hospital and locked up the doctor for joining the doctors' protest. The doctor tried explaining his side but more abuse was hurled by the CPM leader. The factor somehow escaped the room but was followed by the CPM leader and his gang. Dr. Jain was manhandled while his car was also damaged by the assailants. According to the people in the locality, the leader is known for his regressive and rude demeanor. In the past, he was warned many times for his sexual innuendos and improper behavior towards lady staff in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the doctor who is serving here for 12 straight years is a favorite among people.
