NEW DELHI: Uncertainty continues over the announcement of the Chief Minister in Karnataka. DK Sivakumar responded to the media saying that there is no basis in the rumors and Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge will say who the Chief Minister is. The High Command got baffled when DK took the stand that it is not acceptable to share the post of Chief Minister.

In case no decision is reached, the leaders will remain in Delhi. As it became clear that there will be no swearing-in tomorrow, the preparations in Bengaluru were put on hold. Meanwhile, AICC General Secretary Randeep Surjewala said that the cabinet will be formed in Karnataka within the next 42-72 hours. He added that the leadership has not decided on who will be the Chief Minister and discussions are on.

Reports had surfaced that the Chief Minister of Karnataka will be appointed on a term basis with Siddaramaiah taking the position first followed by DK Shivakumar. The two met Kharge the other day, followed by a meeting with Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday. At the same time, even before the leadership announced the Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah's supporters had started celebrating in Bengaluru.
