KOLLAM: Sandeep, the accused in Dr Vandana Das murder case, was brought to Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital, for collecting evidence. A team led by Crime Branch DySP M M Jose brought the accused to the hospital Friday morning around 4:30 am.
Sandeep was first taken to the OP section of the hospital. The accused explained the murder to the investigating team. He told the investigating officers from where he got the scissors to kill Vandana and where he left them.
Sandeep testified that he only remembers going to a room. He was yesterday taken to his own house and to the house of his neighbour and school principal Sreekumar for collecting evidence. Though no guilt was seen on his face, he bowed his head and stood.
Sandeep was first taken to Sreekumar's house. He sat in this house and called the police asking them to rescue him. He sustained injuries on his leg in a fall here. He explained all these to the investigation team. The investigating officers then talked to Sreekumar and other neighbors. Sandeep was later taken to his own house to collect evidence.
House surgeon Vandana Das of Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital was killed on May 10 early morning. Sandeep, who was brought to the hospital to dress his wounds, turned violent and stabbed the doctor with the surgical scissors.
