THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have arrested eight people, including IT employees, in raids conducted across the state as part of Operation P-Hunt. The police, which registered 133 cases, seized 213 electronic devices in various cases. According to the police, the videos of children between the ages of 5 and 16 were seized from the arrested persons.
Raids were conducted in 449 centers. Sources said that those arrested have connections with child trafficking gangs. Cyberdome chief IG P Prakash said that a detailed investigation will be conducted focusing on the arrested persons.
Operation P-Hunt is a cyber operation conducted in the state for months by the state police and Cyberdome to nab those spread sexual videos and images of children. Those who store obscene videos and photos of children on smartphones and laptops and circulate them in cyberspace will be nabbed during this operation.
