MATTANCHERRY: Giving some glimpse of hope from the police force, Mattancherry SI Santhosh Mon helped an accident victim who was laying in a pool of blood. Manoj took the Vypin native in his own car and rushed to the hospital giving a new lease of life for the young one.

The incident happened on Goshree Bridge in the early morning of yesterday. The young man’s knee got disserved and he was wailing for help. Nobody stopped the vehicle for help but traveled without giving much attention to the painful cries.

SI Santhosh Mon reached Goshree after averting another road to evade typical Kochi traffic. Santhosh noticed the young man and never thought twice before helping him get inside his vehicle. A retiree from the health department also came to help the SI while the onlookers strutted their vehicles amid the heat and traffic, caring less about the happenings.

The victim was identified as Raghu(42) a painter by profession. He was traveling for his daily work while being hit by an autorickshaw which sped away after the incident. The doctors failed to stitch the dismembered leg with the knee but assured Raghu a return to full health in coming days.

SI Santhosh Mon later took the autorickshaw into custody.
