KUMILI: There is a new information that Arikomban is likely to return to Chinnakanal again. The forest department has informed that Arikomban has left the border of Kerala and entered the border of Tamil Nadu. The signals from the GPS indicate that it has reached the forest near the Lower Camp Power House, eight kilometers from Kumili. Arikomban is likely to go to Chinnakanal from the present location.


Arikomban's move is by crossing the Kottarakkara-Dindigal national highway. If it comes down Mathikettanchola, can go towards Chinnakanal. In this situation, the forest department is on high alert. Arikomban was in the vicinity of Thekkady forest area from last night to this morning. The rogue tusker was chased into the forest by firing shots in the air and making noise after it reached 100 meters near the residential area.

Arikomban was seen here last night after 11 pm. The authorities had warned that there is a possibility that Arikomban may come here again as it has understood the location. In this situation, the surveillance of Arikomban has been intensified.
