KOTTAYAM: In a not-so-surprising move, Christian factions came in support of Kanjirapally’s Amal Jyothi Engineering College. The educational institution was at the receiving end of criticism after a girl student committed suicide inside the college. The Victorian-style principles rigorously followed by this college also triggered an outrage that spiraled into massive protests getting big participation from students. And now adding much drama, the priests, nuns, and Christian factions conducted a rally in support of the college management, as they viewed the students of left-leaning organizations working in cahoots with politicians to taint the college's repute.
Many slogans blared against the government in the rally conducted by Christian factions. They also warned the students of college and the government to soften their stance on the college.
Meanwhile, the family of Sradha Sathish came lashing out at police ineptness. Sradha's brother said the Kottayam SP misused Sradha's Snapchat status and published it as her suicide note. The family is leaning more towards a central investigation as they have repeatedly admitted to having no trust in the state police conducted investigations.
