THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kattakkada Christian College has been fined a huge amount for a case of impersonation by an SFI leader. The Kerala University College was asked to pay a fine of Rs 1,55,938. The decision was taken by the Kerala University Syndicate.
The action was taken as the university elections had to be postponed after impersonation was found. The fine was given as part of recovery from the college for the loss caused due to this.
Anagha, who won the college union election as the University Union Councilor (UCC), was replaced by SFI Kattakkada Area Secretary A Vishak. The police have registered a case against Kattakkada Christian College Principal-in-Charge Dr. GJ Shaiju as the first accused and student Vishak as the second accused. Both were suspended by the college.
A case has been registered based on the complaint of the university registrar. The case in the complaint filed by Kerala University is for the crime of impersonation and forgery. In the complaint to the police, the registrar had stated that giving wrong information regarding the union councilor election had damaged the image and prestige of the college and the university.
