KOLLAM: The Kollam Excise Special Squad arrested a middle-aged man who sold ganja under the guise of meat trading. Sakkir Hussain, a native of Kollam was caught with 6.3 kg of ganja while trying to smuggle it on a scooter. He has a meat shop in Kadapakkada.

He takes regular trips to Andhra Pradesh in the name of buying cattle. He buys ganja from there for Rs 7000 per kilo and sells it here for Rs 20,000. An investigation conducted with the help of cyber cell revealed that ganja was being smuggled from Andhra Pradesh.

Assistant Excise Commissioner V Robert informed that a detailed investigation will be conducted on his inter-state relations. Circle Inspector Tony Jose along with excise inspector B Vishnu, assistant excise inspector M Manojlal, preventive officer K G Raghu, civil excise officers Srinath, Anish, Ajeesh Babu and Suraj and women civil excise officers Jasmine S, Nishamol V and Varsha Vivek were also present.
