KOCHI: Former SFI leader K Vidya, accused in forging a certificate, filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Kerala High Court. Her plea pointed that she has not forged the certificate and is innocent. Her plea also said that the case is politically motivated. The plea also mentioned that she is young and arrest will affect her future.
The case is of a bailable offence. The police have not alleged that she has cheated anyone using the forged certificate. Vidya also informed that the prosecution has not alleged any personal gains through the forged document. The case against her has political motives. Vidya's plea said that she is ready to cooperate with the investigation.
The charges against her are bailable. Her case registered in Ernakulam Central Police has been handed over to Agali Police. The case was handed over to the Agali police as the forged certificate was produced in a college in Attappady, Palakkad. No anticipatory bail was sought in the Nileswaram case.
She produced the forged certificate of having worked as a guest lecturer in Maharajas College during 2018-2021 for the interview of guest lecturer post in the Malayalam department of Attappady Government College. She produced the copy of the certificate bearing the seal of Maharaja's College and the signature of the vice-principal for temporary appointment in Attappady Government College. The college authorities grew suspicious and informed the Maharajas College. The Ernakulam Central Police registered a case on the complaint of the principal of Maharajas College.
