THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health minister sought a report on the death of the one-and-a-half-year-old girl at the Nedumangad district hospital. The intervention of the Health Minister came after the relatives alleged that the baby lost her life due to a medical error. The Minister instructed the Director of the Health Department to investigate the incident and submit a report.

Archa, the daughter of Sujith and Sukanya, a resident of Nedumangad Chembuvila Vadakkumkara, had died in the Nedumangad hospital. The baby was undergoing treatment at Nedumangad District Hospital for the past four days. The doctors gave a checkup and sent the baby back home but this morning the baby was taken to the hospital again after she felt suffocation. Doctors administered medicine and vaporization. Relatives say that the child died around eleven o'clock.

Relatives alleged that the child's death was due to medical errors in the hospital. Locals and relatives had protested in front of the hospital alleging medical errors. Nedumangad police registered a case of unnatural death.
