THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police officer who was seriously injured in an accident where a bicycle rammed into the back of a parked lorry, died. Hiranraj (47) of Hiran Vilas,Maruthamon, Kallara is the one who died. He was serving in the rural SP office at Vikas Bhawan, Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased Hiran Raj was one of the well-known cyclists of the state. The accident happened four days ago during training. While riding on Wednesday, the cycle lost control and crashed into the back of a parked lorry.

Hiran Raj, who was seriously injured in the accident, was admitted to a private hospital in the district, but he died in the early hours today. The body was handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem was completed at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The body was cremated at five o'clock this evening and the funeral rites were held with official honors at the family compound in Kallara.
