KOCHI: “Brother, don't give a sad hue to my story, I simply want to achieve success, that is it” 29-year-old Brijith's words were sharp and had in it a determinant tone unusual in youngsters these days.

While every food delivery guy steers through busy roads on bikes, Brijith prefers a rented bicycle from the Kochi metro to deliver food. Born in Malappuram, Brijith lived in Mumbai for 26 years. His father was an electrician in Tarapur.

Brijith and his family returned to Kerala after his father's death four years back. He had 70% marks in 12th std from Tarapur Vidyamandir. Later he pursued Bsc and completed it with 65% marks. In Kochi, he started well working with an e-commerce firm but soon entered toiling times; as the firm closed during covid after a financial strangle.

Rummaging for jobs in the streets of Kochi taught him a valuable lesson; Never depend on anyone but make a fortune through hard work. He had no access to two-wheelers so favored a rented bicycle from the metro. He is one of the four people in Kerala, who deliver food by bicycle. The daily rent was Rs 600 but was reduced to Rs 449 after he hit a chord with the authorities. Near Kochi South railway station, Brijith lives in a rented room with a modest setting. After the seven-hour toil of work, he dedicates valuable time to learn web designing and digital marketing.

Brijith yearns for an escape back to Mumbai where lies his childhood and memories. But he is not ready to reach the streets of Tarapur as a redundant. His family are all settled in Malappuram. Brijith earns Rs 1000 every day from which Rs 449 goes to bicycle rent, the rest he gives to his mother. He is not striving for work but is chronicling his life in Kochi through all the hard work in the hope of reaching the summit of success very soon. If asked about his Zomato job, Brijith smiles saying he is too happy.
