VADAKKENCHERRY: Vadakanchery Police has taken the vehicle that broke the AI ​​camera into custody. The Innova car that broke the AI ​​camera in Ayakkad was the one that was caught. The vehicle was recovered from a workshop in Kothamangalam. This is the car hired by Muhammad, the accused. While going to Munnar with friends after the incident, the car was given to the workshop at Kothamangalam for repair. The accused was arrested after the police contacted the owner. The police said that the investigation revealed that two other people who were traveling with Muhammad were not involved in the incident.

A case has been registered against the accused for destroying public property. The accused was produced in Alathur court and remanded. The AI ​​camera and the post on which it was installed near Ayakad was hit by the car and destroyed on Thursday around 11 pm. It was clear from the CCTV footage that the vehicle was backed up and rammed at the post deliberately. The name written on the broken glass of the back of the car became the breakthrough to the investigation.


Forensic authorities examined the vehicle which was brought to the Vadakanchery police station. The Department of Motor Vehicles has started the process to reinstall the camera. Officials said that the camera will be reinstalled soon.
