THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state will receive isolated heavy rain till Wednesday with south central districts receiving more rain. Thunderstorms are also likely.

Cyclone Biporjoy has become a severe cyclonic storm over the Central-Eastern Arabian Sea. This will move northwards till June 14. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, it is likely to change direction and make landfall at a speed of 150 km between the Pakistan coast and the Mandvi coast on June 15th.

At the same time, the low pressure over North East Bay of Bengal has weakened. Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur districts will receive 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain in 24 hours. Strong winds of 40 to 45 km per hour and up to 55 km per hour are likely in Kerala-Karnataka- Lakshadweep coasts till June 15th. Fishing is not allowed. There is a possibility of 3 to 3.3 meter high waves and rogue seas on Kerala coast today.
