KANNUR: There were bite marks all over the body of 11-year-old boy Nihal Naushad, who was attacked and killed by stray dogs. The inquest report said there were injuries from his toe to the head. There are deep injuries below his waist, behind the neck and below the eyes. The dog bit off the flesh of his left thigh completely.
Nihal is the son of Naushad and Nuseefa of Muzhappilangad. He was the student of Dharmadam Jaycees Special School. The child was missing from home around 5 pm yesterday. The relatives and locals searched for him. Photos and information were shared on social media.
The Edakkad police later found him lying unconscious in an uninhabited yard 300 meters away from his house on Sunday at 7:30 pm. Though he was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The body is now kept at Thalassery General Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Manappuram Juma Masjid in Edakkad after his father arrives from the Gulf. Meantime, the locals in the area are staging protests on the incident. With this, the district panchayat started catching the dogs.
