NEW YORK: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Left government is trying to make Kerala a corruption-free state. He was speaking at the general meeting organized in New York's Time Square in connection with the regional conference of the Loka Kerala Sabha.
"The K-FON project, designed to provide internet access to all sections of people, has been inaugurated. Kerala is the first state in the country to have its own network system. Our state is the first to implement Digital Science Park and Water Metro in the country. When the Left government came to power in 2016, people had a feeling that nothing would happen in Kerala. The National Highway Authority was about to close its office after stopping the development work of the highway. The situation was not different in the case of the GAIL pipeline and the line to bring the electricity share from Kudankulam. However, the Left government was able to implement all these projects. People started believing that things would get done in the state. The construction of hilly and coastal highways is in progress," the CM said.
"The LDF government provided houses to 3,70,000 homeless people. An agreement was made to build 40,000 new houses. Three lakh families were given title deeds within seven years. By 2025, Kerala will become a state without extreme poor," The CM added.
Legislative Assembly Speaker AN Shamseer presided over the function.
