THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a move to arrest KPCC chief K Sudhakaran, the second accused in the Monson Mavunkal fraud case. The crime branch said there is strong evidence against him. Legal advice may be sought to arrest Sudhakaran.
Sudhakaran is likely to move the court for anticipatory bail. If necessary, he will approach the high court against crime branch registering the case. He had sought legal advice for it.
Monson Mavunkal is the first accused in the antiques fraud case. The crime branch filed a report in the Ernakulam ACJM court making Sudhakaran the second accused. A notice was issued to Sudhakaran to appear for questioning tomorrow at the Kalamasery office of the crime branch.
The crime branch registered the case in September 2021 on the complaint of Yaqoob Purayil, Anoop V Ahamed, M T Shameer, Siddique Purayil, E A Salim and Shanimon that Monson swindled them of Rs 10 crore. The statement of Anoop is that he paid Rs 25 lakh in the presence of Sudhakaran. Monson’s former driver Ajith and employees Jaison and Joshi said they saw Rs 10 lakh being handed over to Sudhakaran.
Mavunkal had allegedly made false representations about himself and his business to various people and collected money from them.
