THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The central meteorological department said as cyclone Biparjoy is located over the central-eastern Arabian Sea, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Kerala. There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places during the next 24 hours and there is a chance of widespread thundershowers during the next five days.
Yellow alert has been sounded in various districts today.

Yellow alert has been declared in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur. In the next four days, the wind is likely to blow at a speed of 40 to 45 km per hour along the Kerala coast and the sea is likely to be rough.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea under any circumstances. The public should exercise extreme caution as thunderstorms and winds are likely to lash along with rain.
