KOCHI: Self-styled antique dealer Monson Mavunkal on Tuesday said that KPCC president K Sudhakaran has nothing to do with the antique fraud case. Monson said that if properly investigated, even the DIG will end up in jail. He also said that the case has a direct connection with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's PS.
Monson said that he has handed over all the information to the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He was speaking to the media while being taken to court. Earlier, Sudhakaran had responded that he was innocent.
Sudhakaran said that he went to Monson for treatment and many noted people have also gone there.
"I will not appear before the crime branch tomorrow. This case against me is conspired by many. including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan," he said.
The crime branch registered the case in September 2021 on the complaint of Yaqoob Purayil, Anoop V Ahamed, M T Shameer, Siddique Purayil, E A Salim and Shanimon that Monson swindled an amount of Rs 10 crore. Anoop told the police that he paid Rs 25 lakh to Monson in the presence of Sudhakaran. Monson’s former driver Ajith and employees Jaison and Joshi said they saw Rs 10 lakh being handed over to Sudhakaran.
