IDUKKI: A youngster fell into the trap of an online job interview which later turned into horrible few days filled with threatening calls. Idukki Mrayoor native has reached the police station with a complaint about a gang siphoning money from him through threats.

It was after an advertisement on social media that the youngster decided to attempt a virtual interview session. While in the interview., the WhatsApp number, email, and other details were deftly acquired by the gang which all sounded genuine for the Idukki native. After some days, morphed nude images of the youngster came as a WhatsApp message instilling fear.

The gang asked for money or else threatened about sharing the same with his close relatives and friends. However, he decided to ignore the threat but the worst happened. Morphed images reached his relatives and friends. More worry happened as he started paying the gang money, with Rs 25,000 for three stages. The police have started an investigation into the crime.
