THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Biju Sebastian is a notorious name; an infamous thief who gets his thrill robbing panchaloha idols among many others. He is accused in more than 50 cases. It was only recently that Biju got released from jail, but authorities learned about Biju continuing his shenanigans even after serving imprisonment.

Recently the Nedumangad native Biju was arrested by police in comic fashion. Biju committed a robbery recently, and he took a scooter from the nearby premise, later traveling through the Pangode region. However, the newly installed AI camera worked efficiently and caught him traveling without a helmet. A challan was sent immediately to the RC owner who got shocked. The police thus easily tracked the vehicle and arrested Biju, yet again.

Biju left Poojappura central jail last March. After that, he stole a motorcycle, a car and even attacked a nurse to snatch away her two sovereigns of gold. Recently he barged into a supermarket in Mallapally; broke the glass, and took away Rs 31,500. The police found it arduous to catch Biju since he has an aversion to mobile phones and will switch locations often. He has been indulging in robbery for more than 35 years.
