CHENNAI: The court will pronounce its verdict today on the bail plea filed by Tamil Nadu minister Senthil Balaji. The Chennai Sessions Court will also pass judgment on the ED's custody application today. Yesterday, the Madras High Court had rejected Senthil Balaji's plea for interim bail. The court took action pointing out that the bail application will not stand as Senthil Balaji has been sent to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, Senthil Balaji's heart surgery will take place today. Balaji was shifted to Kauvery Hospital last night. On Thursday, the Madras High Court had allowed him to be shifted to Kauvery Hospital.

ED Balaji was arrested on Wednesday night after hours of questioning in a cash-for-job case. DMK will hold a meeting in Coimbatore today to protest against the minister's arrest. The Human Rights Commission visited Balaji in the hospital yesterday
