KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has stated that she is ready to support the Congress against the BJP in Parliament but they should not expect any support in the state as they had joined hands with CPI (M). The Chief Minister of Bengal was speaking at a public meeting in 24 Parganas.
“You have ruled many states, Congress. You are CPI(M)’s biggest friend. Also the BJP’s here. Yet you want our support in Parliament? We will support you against the BJP, but do not come to us for help in Bengal after ‘living with the CPI(M)’ here,” she said.
Mamata said that those who say that there is no peace in Bengal today should remember what was the situation here during the CPM rule. She said that Trinamool Congress is not behind the violence in Bengal and also pointed out that the party lost two party workers.
Mamata's reaction came shortly after the governor took action in the widespread attack that took place before the panchayat elections.
