senthil-balaji

CHENNAI: Principal Sessions Court has denied bail to Senthil Balaji in the cash-for-job case. The court also allowed the DMK minister to be sent to ED custody for eight days. But the court said that Senthil Balaji's treatment for heart disease should continue.

With this, ED will have to interrogate the Minister during his custody period by going to Kauvery Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The ED demanded that Senthil Balaji be remanded in custody for 15 days.

Balaji was arrested on Wednesday night after hours of questioning in the ADMK minister's case of taking money by offering him a job. Later, he was admitted to the government hospital after experiencing chest pain. In the subsequent tests, it was found that there was a block in the minister's heart arteries and an emergency bypass surgery was required. He was transferred from the government hospital to the Kauvery Hospital on the instructions of the Madras High Court based on the authenticity of the medical report from the hospital.
