rajeesh

BENGALURU: The Karnataka Police is investigating whether TK Rejeesh, who was arrested for attempting to smuggle arms to Kerala and one of the accused in the TP Chandrasekaran murder case, has any terrorist links. Neeraj Joseph, a Malayali, was caught trying to smuggle three guns and 99 bullets to Kerala in a BMW car from Bangalore Cubbon Park Police Station on the 9th. As per his statement, he bought the weapons on the advice of Rejeesh.

Following this, Cubbon Park Police took Rejeesh into custody from Kannur Central Jail the other day. As it is a case of arms smuggling, the Karnataka Police is investigating whether there is any terrorist connection in this case. From the questioning of Neeraj, it was learned that guns and bullets were smuggled into India from Myanmar through the Nagaland border. It was also stated that the weapons were bought for Rs 70,000.

The Karnataka Police is also investigating whether anyone else had helped Neeraj and whether arms had been smuggled through Rejeesh earlier.

Other accused

This is not the first time that the accused in the TP case have become accused in criminal cases while serving jail terms. The police had registered a case against the main accused, Kodi Suni, for carrying out contract aka 'quotation' activities while in jail and threatening the gold smuggling gang. Another accused, Kirmani Manoj, was arrested by the police at a rave party in Wayanad. Shafi was brought to the Customs Jail and interrogated in the Karipur gold case.
