THRISSUR: Poombata Sini (48), a native of Ernakulam Palluruthi, accused in many cases of conspiracy, robbery, assault and injury, and cheating by pawning gold, has been jailed under the KAAPA Act. There are more than fifty cases against her in Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Thrissur districts.

In Alappuzha, the cases are in Aroor, Kuthiathodu, Ernakulam Mulavukad, Chemmangad, Thoppumpadi, Town South, Ernakulam Central, Kannamali, Aluva East, Pudukkad, Kodakara, Mala, Town East, Ollur, Chalakudy and Nedupuzha. After considering the report given by Thrissur City Police Commissioner Ankit Asokan, Collector VR Krishna Teja ordered preventive detention under the KAAPA Act. A police team led by Inspector Benny Jacob took her into custody from her rented house in Ollur Thaikkattussery and produced her before the collector. She lives in different places under the names of Sreeja, Sini and Poombata Sini and commits financial fraud.
