THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A car flipped over the hook near the dangerous curves of Ponmudi in Thiruvananthapuram. The accident happened at 9 am near the forest office section in the 22nd hairpin towards Ponmudi.

This is the topmost hairpin in Ponmudi Hill station. The team of four people from Anchal was returning back from the hilltop when they were met with the accident. The four were rescued by the authorities with no big injuries of concern. According to details from officers, the Pajero car used by the team where coming down the curves at a very high speed.

The scenic hill station has seen some foggy days with little visibility on account of the massive monsoon hitting the southern state. Driving these steep curves amidst the fog has turned into an arduous task. The rescue operations were spearheaded by forest officials and locals nearby.
