LUCKNOW: A Muslim man was beaten and forced to chant ‘ Jai Shree Ram” in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr. The gang of three began attacking Sahil accusing him of mobile theft. The gruesome attack was shooted on the phone and was made viral after sharing it through social media. The incident happened on June 13, but Sahil’s family reached with the complaint to ASP yesterday after which the arrest was made.

According to the complaint registered at Kakod police station: Sahil was waiting at a bus stop when a gang of three stopped at him and forced him to travel with them to an isolated area. Sahil was questioned by the three-member gang about the theft. Unaware of the incident, Sahil denied any wrongdoing which irked the three. The accused then tied him to a tree, beat him up, shaved his head, and forced him to chant "Jai Shri Ram". They also recorded a video of Sahil, which they subsequently shared widely on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Sahil’s family said they were receiving threats from police to withdraw the case. In one gross misconduct, police initially arrested Sahil for theft charges while the gang of three was allowed to leave. It was only after repeated pestering and involvement from more people that the police were forced into action.
